The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely on advertisement. All potential clients are urged to make their own independent investigation and evaluation. Before you decide, ask The Law Office of Sherea-Ann Ferrer, P.A. to send you free written information about her qualifications and experience.

· Don’t marry someone you have known for less than one year.(  I mean, you can—but there is a high rate of divorce in these circumstances, especially if you are not familiar with the other person’s view on money management, children and family).

· Don’t have children with someone who has other children but treat them badly. If you break up, there is a high probability he/she will treat your children badly .

· Don’t marry someone that hit you before you got married. It will most likely continue during the marriage despite what they say.

· Don’t marry someone who cheats on you before you get married.  He/she will cheat on you after you are married.

· Don’t marry someone who has been married before unless you find out the reason he/she got divorced.

· Don’t move your children to another state without permission from the Court. The State of Florida requires that you give notice to the other parent. If you don’t, worst case scenario, you can lose custody of your children.

· Don’t withhold child support from the other parent because of visitation issues. After all, child support is for the child. Instead, go to court and have the Judge set a visitation or time-sharing schedule.

· Don’t speak badly about the other parent in front of the children. This makes your children feel really bad and makes a bad appearance to the Court also.

· Don’t complain about not seeing your children if you have the right to. Go to Court and enforce your agreement or your Court order. Your children need full time parents, not part-time or parents who are there only sometimes.

· Don’t sit around with child support you cannot pay if your income has changed and is now less. See an attorney immediately and have your child support modified immediately.

· Don’t go to Court unprepared. The judge does not know you and will not know if you are speaking the truth without the appropriate proof.

· Don’t get emotionally overworked about your legal issues to the point that you make yourself sick. Understand that there are some things you can control and some you cannot.
